Why is there a pearl effect?
iSuo Chem’s high pigmentation pigment are widely used in cosmetics, plastics, printing inks and automotive coatings. The main types are: natural fish scale pearlescent pigment, bismuth oxychloride crystal pearlescent pigment, mica coated pearlescent pigment. The most common application is the coating of mica pearlescent pigments. They are mica flakes with a thin surface covered with thin titanium dioxide or iron dioxide, or other metal oxides. Mica has a size from 4um to 200um and a thickness of about 0.5um.
The metal oxide coated mica plate is very smooth, so it has good light reflection properties, and it has transparency, which means that only part of the light is reflected, The transmitted portion of the light passes through the mica sheet to another layer and can continue to be fired, resulting in multiple reflections at many levels. It is difficult for the eye to focus on a certain layer and thereby establish the depth of the light. So you can see a wonderfully deep, shiny sheen, which we call "Pearl."
Therefore, shiny luster pigment have an unparalleled effect compared to other pigments with their unique soft pearl luster.
